Imam Khamenei agreed to pardon, commute penalty for eligible convicts

On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad and Imam Sadegh (pbut), the Leader of the Revolution agreed to pardon and commute the sentences of a number of convicts.

With the coming of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, and the auspicious birth anniversaries of the last prophet, the chosen Muhammad and Imam Sadegh (pbut), the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution agreed to pardon and commute the sentences of 3,552 convicts sentenced in the Public and Revolutionary Courts, the Judicial Organization of the Armed Forces, and the State Discretionary Punishment Organization.
On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad and Imam Sadegh (pbut), Hujjatul Islam Raisi, Iran’s Judiciary Chief, addressed a letter to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and requested permission to pardon and reduce the sentences of 3,552 convicts who have been identified as meeting the necessary conditions by the relevant commission. This request was approved by the Supreme Leader of the Revolution.
