Imam Khamenei agreed to pardon, reduce, and commute sentences of 1700 convicts

On Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Ghadir, Imam Khamenei agreed to pardon, reduce, and commute sentences of 1700 convicts

 


On the event of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Ghadir, Ayatollah Khamenei agreed to pardon, reduce or commute sentences of a thousand and seventy convicts at Public and Revolutionary Courts, the Judicial Organization of Armed Forces, and the State Discretionary Punishment Organization.
On the event of the Eid Al-Adha and EId al-Ghadir, Hujjatul-islam Wal-Muslimin Raissi, the head of the Judiciary, addressed a letter to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and requested permission to pardon, reduce or commute sentences of 1700 convicts whose pardon files have been investigated at the pardon and exemption commission, and have been identified as meeting the necessary conditions. This request was approved by Ayatollah Khamenei in compliance with article 11 of Act 110 of the Constitution.
