Iran Will Never Compromise on Its Principles: Leader

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, said here on Tuesday in a meeting with Iranian ambassadors, "The Islamic Republic of Iran will never compromise on its principles, which are the basis of our national honor."

Emphasizing that the representatives of Iran abroad need to take the initiative by relying on talent, perseverance, and careful planning, the Leader said, "Our national honor has no price."

Referring to the rapid developments at the global level, the Leader also emphasized the need for the Foreign Ministry to establish a dynamic evaluation system in order to assess Iran's bilateral and international ties.

The Leader added, "The ambassadors must dynamically play decisive roles in the countries where they are stationed and explain the stances and viewpoints of the Islamic Republic of Iran logically and forcefully."

Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Some of the current international rules are imposed due to the hegemony of certain powers; accepting them would be equivalent to abandoning our national identity and Islamic principles.

"There is no honor in doing so, and we cannot compromise on our principles only to please a part of the world... atop of which is the arrogant United States."

Mentioning the country's great capabilities in the scientific, political, economic, cultural, and social spheres, and particularly the "quite strong popular support of the Iranian nation for their own political system", the Leader said, "These are all miracles of the Islamic Revolution."

The Leader added, "Relying on such unique capabilities, and relying on God's grace, we can emerge victorious from all the various challenges in the field of foreign policy."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that a high voter turnout in the upcoming parliamentary elections would also be a great demonstration of the Iranian nation's commitment to their system, adding, "God willing, the Iranian nation's participation in the elections will be truly dynamic, vibrant, and extensive."

Referring to Iran's achievements in the field of nuclear technology, which are due in large part to the endeavors of pious Iranian youth, and the hue and cry raised by the West, and led by the U.S., the Leader said, "The country's nuclear technology is truly indigenous and meant only for peaceful purposes."

Ayatollah Khamenei added that the Islamic Republic of Iran would never resort to the use of weapons of mass destruction due to the people's adherence to religious principles.

Referring to the fact that the U.S. and some European countries are insisting that Iran abandon its nuclear program, the Leader stated, "Such stances and requests are unjust and illogical, and the Islamic Republic of Iran will never yield to them."

On the possibility of restoring relations with the United States, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Under such circumstances, in which the United States is treating the whole world as if all nations were indebted to it, showing any sign of weakness and any tendency to yield to the U.S. demands would be the greatest strategic mistake."

The Leader also stated that over the past 35 years, Arab countries have made no progress in the Palestinian issue, while the United States has never decreased its support for the Zionist regime and has never sided with the Arabs.
