In a meeting with officials of the three branches of government on Wednesday, October 27, the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, stated that justice, virtue and piety of officials would increase the Islamic system's efficiency. He also stated that government officials should increase their efforts to administer social justice and materialize Islamic values.
Speaking at the meeting, in which the heads of the three branches of government, the chairman of the Expediency Council, Cabinet members, Majlis deputies, the Judiciary officials and some other government officials and military officers had participated, the Leader referred to the hue and cry raised by the United States and Europe over Iran's nuclear activities.
"They know that Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons, and they are not so much worried about this issue. But by raising this hue and cry, they actually intend to occupy the minds of our government officials and, thus, create obstacles in the way of the efforts being made by the three branches of government to solve the problems and bring about the country's progress and development," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
The Leader said that the Iranian nation is logical and discerning, and he called on those negotiating with representatives of the Islamic Republic about the nuclear issue to avoid making incorrect and illogical remarks.
"If they do so, they Iranian nation will reach the conclusion that they have no sense of logic. Thus, the Iranian nation and government will be prompted to leave the negotiations," the Leader warned.
As regards the logical stance of the Islamic Republic about the requests of the International Atomic Energy Agency and those negotiating with Iran's representatives, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out, "Whenever there has been a logical request, like the request for inspections by the agency, we have accepted it, and whenever there has been an unreasonable and unjustified demand, we have resisted it and will continue to resist."
At the end of the meeting, evening and night prayers were led by Ayatollah Khamenei. After the prayers, the guests broke their fast along with the Leader.
