Along with the performance of the magnificent prayers of Eid al-Fitr throughout the country, thousands of believers in Tehran performed Eid al-Fitr prayers this morning, on Monday, with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the mosque of Imam Khomeini (RA).
Addressing thousands of believers, His Eminence said: This year, the month of Ramadan was truly a holy month for the Iranian people. We could see first-hand that people represented signs of acceptance and closeness to Allah in their behavior: Their communities involved in organizing ceremonies and providing services to attendees exhibited this phenomenal attitude. There was a genuine spiritual atmosphere during the month of Ramadan overall.
Ayatollah Khamenei advised everyone to preserve the spirituality they have gained during the blessed month of Ramadan and held: What you earned during this month, is your hoard. To prolong the spiritual mood of this month, recite the Quran on a regular basis. Be careful while focusing your attention on prayers. These are important things to care for. This month was a practice of abstinence, a practice of making God your focus of attention--make the most of this practice. Maintain this sacred hoard for the future.
The Leader of the Revolution praised the Muslim nation for the great participation in the Al-Quds day rally by Saying 'Make the hearts of others’ happy, develop hope within your own heart, perform great actions. Just before the holy month of Ramadan, you showed the world one great, enthusiastic election; and then, the Quds Day parades were another magnificent display. The powerful attack against the enemies was yet another great accomplishment.'
His Eminence expressed concerns about existing cultural shortcomings in the country and said: Among important work are cultural affairs. We have many cultural shortcomings that the enemy could penetrate. Government organizations and public communities have a responsibility to address these cultural issues.
Referring to a speech wherein His Eminence had called for people to be active in the cultural arena, Ayatollah Khamenei went on to say: "Fire at will” calls for spontaneous and upstanding cultural work. It means that throughout the country, those who possess abilities to think and create, should do the work themselves. They should identify the cultural shortcomings. "Fire at will” does not call for anarchy, it does not mean giving opportunities to those making thoughtless claimants against the country’s revolutionary movement.
Describing "providing peace" as the main duty of revolutionary forces, the Leader of the Revolution asserted: The revolutionary forces must first of all be careful about good order of the country; peace in the country, not letting the enemies abuse the condition of the country: they should be careful about appropriate implementation of laws. These concerns firstly address the forces of the revolution, who are conscientious, and interested in helping the country achieve its goals.
'Social hoards must be retained. Retainment is achieved through the people maintaining unity and keeping the revolution’s values as their goal,' said the Leader of the Revolution, wishing the news state good luck: 'I hope that the new state is soon formed and it starts the necessary actions for the country; great actions are needed to be realised in the country.'
Stressing the need for domestic economic progress, Ayatollah Khamenei said: The country’s officials, with the help of the people, must address issues dealing with domestic production and the youth’s employment rates, which are important issues of our time: that's why we named this year, 'The Year of National Production and Employment'. These issues need to be seriously addressed.
The Supreme Leader advised Muslim nations to take a clear stance on issues in the Muslim world, even if it causes dissatisfaction of arrogant individuals. He further added: The Islamic Nations are covered in wounds: Conflicts in Yemen, Bahrain, problems in all Islamic countries, are major wounds on the body of Islam. The World of Islam should explicitly support the people of Yemen, and express their disdain against the oppressors who've attacked the people in such horrible ways during the month of Ramadan.
Highlighting the significance of openly supporting oppressed nations, Ayatollah Khamenei asserted: The same is true for the people of Bahrain and Kashmir: Our people can back this great movement within the World of Islam. Just as we explicitly express our position against enemies and adversaries, the world of Islam--especially the elites in it--should follow this path and take a position towards seeking to please God, absolutely, even if it leads to dissatisfaction of the arrogant front.
