Ayatollah Khamenei Roger Garaudy

What did Ayatollah Khamenei tell Roger Garaudy about Jews?

Upon the fourth death anniversary of prominent French philosopher Roger Garaudy, Khamenei.ir published a report on a meeting between Garaudy and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. Garaudy is also notable for authoring more than 50 books in his lifetime.

The meeting was held on April 20, 1998 when the late Roger Garaudy, met with Ayatollah Khamenei Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. At the meeting Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that Iran’s opposition to the Zionist regime and the U.S. government is absolutely free of racial or religious fanaticism.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that,”Iran’s enmity against the U.S. and Zionism is based on logical Islamic principles; there is no racial and religious fanaticism ruling over the Iranian nation’s anti-US and anti-Zionist struggle. That is to say, if the U.S. was not arrogant and the Zionists didn’t commit such shameful crimes, we would not have taken such stances against them. We hold no prejudice and negativity against Jews; Jews are living peacefully and comfortably in Iran.”

His Eminence drew a parallel between the Zionist regime and the Nazis adding, “The Zionists and the Nazis have a lot in common. Today there is a major contradiction in the way the U.S. and Europe behave. They decry Nazi’s racism against the Jews, but support the Zionists who are similar to Nazis, in many ways. The despicability of supporting Zionists is no less than that of supporting Nazi Germany or Hitler, however, the materialistic civilization of America and Europe has no explanation for this major contradiction.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution distinguished the people living under western domineering powers from their governments and stated: “There is no doubt that the American, European, Canadian and some other nations are utterly dissatisfied with the current situation and the dominant role the Zionists play in their lives. Today, the Zionists are truly considered as a predicament and a plight for nations; anyone who values truth, human principles and spirituality must stand against this wicked phenomenon. Unfortunately, American statesmen are totally influenced by the Zionists; this certainly harms the American nation: we believe that power founded on bullying, intervention in other countries affairs, as well as domineering nations, won’t last long.”

Ayatollah Khamenei described the future outlook as very bright and agreeable and said: “We coupled our movement and efforts with relying on God and this has granted us endless hope, hence the future belongs to us and we are by no means pessimistic.”

Before Ayatollah Khamenei’s speech, Mr. Roger Garuady said: “The Zionists have all the levers of powers at hand in the U.S. and American press, Radio, TV and cinema are all dominated by the Zionists. Thus I believe the U.S. is currently a colony of Israel. Mr. Gaurudy described U.S. policy towards the world as the rule of money and urged Muslim nations and Islamic governments to fight against the domineering policies of the U.S. and Israel.
