Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Tuesday morning with participants of the 31st International Quran Competitions. Speaking at the meeting, the Leader stated that divine guidance and understanding the main teachings of the Holy Quran on sensitive issues such as knowing the enemy depends on establishing a close relationship with the Holy Quran, adding: "Establishing a close relationship with the Holy Quran and paying careful attention to Quranic teachings will help the Islamic Ummah to achieve the dignity that Allah the Exalted has promised."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the deep interest of teenagers and youth in the Holy Quran as a great blessing and reiterated: "Deep familiarity with the Holy Quran will help society get close to acting on its vital teachings and this is the primary and ultimate goal of memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that establishing a close relationship with the Holy Quran is a sign of one's preparedness to receive divine guidance, stressing: "Today, the greatest problem of the world of Islam is drifting away from Quranic teachings and this leads to ignoring the plots and malevolence of the enemies of Islam."
His Eminence reiterated that gaining a deep understanding of Quranic teachings is the only way to make up for these shortcomings, saying: "After the emergence of the Islamic Republic, the enemies of Islam increased and reinforced their plots against Islam."
He added: "Today, the policy of the enemies of Islam is to wage domestic wars by their agents and to make Muslim brothers kill one another in Islamic societies. Unfortunately, some people in the Islamic Ummah are not aware of this evil policy and they are prepared to join hands with shaitan in order to kill their Muslim brothers. They are even prepared to cooperate with the Zionist regime."
