In a meeting with government officials and ordinary citizens, Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the Iranian nation and other Muslim nations will not allow the Americans and the Zionists to derail or hijack the movement of the regional nations.

His Eminence reiterated: "If Muslim nations strengthen their faith, if they utilize human wisdom as a great divine gift, if they carry out jihad in military, political, economic and cultural areas, and if they appreciate the human sense of dignity, they will definitely achieve the position they deserve."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the current events in certain North African and Middle Eastern countries are indicative of Muslim nations' attention to Islam. He added: "Islamic Awakening in Egypt, Tunisia and other countries shows that the oppressive and humiliating balance that domineering westerners and their puppets had imposed on the regional nations over the past 150 years, has been upset and a new chapter has begun in the history of the region."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the regional developments have bright prospects. He added that the arrogant powers insist on denying and hiding the Islamic aspect of these developments. "The Americans, the Zionists and their mercenaries and allies in the region have used all their facilities to derail the impressive movement of the regional nations and to re-establish the oppressive equations of the past by installing dependent elements. But when a nation awakens and enters the arena courageously, it is not possible to defeat it."

His Eminence highlighted the need for vigilance and insight among nations and prominent figures of the world of Islam in the face of the efforts and complicated machinations of America and the Zionist regime, further adding: "Of course the activities of the hegemons will create problems for the nations that have awakened, but thanks to the vigilance of the Islamic Ummah and its prominent figures, the promising movement that has started in the region will continue in a firm way."

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the plots of the enemies of Islam against the Islamic Revolution and reiterated: "Discord, infiltration, assassination, ethnic and sectarian conflicts, instigating fitna and provoking foreign enemies to attack Iran were among the arrogant powers' unsuccessful actions to weaken the impressive movement of the Iranian nation, and the same or similar plots will be designed and carried out against the regional nations that have awakened."

His Eminence said that Muslims can counter such plots by avoiding pointless and unimportant debates as well as sectarian and ethnic conflicts and by understanding the historical significance of the uprising of Muslim nations.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that Iran has constantly supported all anti-arrogance movements. "Wherever a movement is started against America and Zionism and whenever a nation rises up against international dictatorship and domestic dictators, the Iranian nation supports them."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that simulation is one of America's complex plots. Referring to the developments in Syria, he added: "By trying to simulate in Syria the events that happened in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and Libya, the Americans are trying to create problems for Syria, a country that is on the path of resistance. But the nature of the events in Syria is different from the nature of the events in other regional countries."

His Eminence said that Islamic Awakening in the regional countries is anti-Zionist and anti-America in nature but that America and Israel are clearly involved in the events of Syria. He stressed that the principle of the Iranian nation is to reject any movement that shouts slogans in favor of America and Zionism.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution added: "Of course the insistence of the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic on this principle infuriates the enemies of the Islamic Republic and makes them increase their plots, but the experienced and firm Iranian nation will not abandon its positions."

His Eminence described the Bahraini nation as oppressed and added: "The movement of the people of Bahrain is similar to the movement of the people of Egypt, Tunisia and Yemen, and there is no sense in distinguishing these similar movements, but unfortunately some people follow the path of the enemies of Islam instead of paying attention to what nations really want."
