The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei met this morning with the officials of the Islamic Republic, the ambassadors of Islamic countries, and a group of people from different social backgrounds. The meeting was held on the occasion of mab'ath, the day when Prophet Muhammad (s.w.a.) was appointed to be a prophet.
In his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei described mab'ath as a sensitive point in history and the beginning of the movement towards achieving the natural and historical needs of humanity and ensuring its prosperity.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that mab'ath and the teachings of Islam spread the message of justice, peace, and security for humanity, further adding: "Based on a divine promise, those who tread this path, which is based on monotheism, will achieve salvation and victory."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that mab'ath was a source of divine grace since it opened the path of justice, peace, and security and added that those who oppose this path are the same people who are against the prosperity of humanity.
His Eminence referred to Quranic verses and the Holy Prophet's lifestyle and said that Prophet Muhammad (s.w.a.) called on Muslims to resist against those who oppose human prosperity. He further stated: "By using a clear logic, Islam calls on all human beings to live a prosperous life under the shadow of peace, justice, and security. However, Islam also calls on human beings to mount firm and active resistance against those who oppose this path."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution further stated: "Throughout history, those who were opposed to this bright path, namely human prosperity, have caused wars not to bring about justice but rather to increase their own power, promote injustice, and deprive human beings of security. And today, the dominant and arrogant powers of the world continue the same path which is rooted in ignorance in a modern fashion by using modern technology and advanced weaponry, such as nuclear weapons."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the weapons of the arrogant powers and the huge amounts of money that are spent by those powers to achieve those weapons are one of the tragic issues of the modern world and reiterated: "So long as the superpowers are the ones who manage global issues, war, insecurity, and injustice will continue to exist in the world."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that during the 45 years following the Second World War and up to the year 1990, there was only a three-week period when no wars were fought in the world. He further added that those who cause these wars are the number one weapon producers in the world who seek to achieve gains by selling their weapons. "And the claims made by the US regarding the establishment of security and justice as the reason behind starting wars in the world are complete lies," he noted.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the US government spent 600 billion dollars for military purposes during the past year and said: "These weapons are used to repress the Muslim people of Afghanistan, to dominate the people of Iraq, and to help the evil Zionist regime to cause tension in the Middle East."
His Eminence further stated: "Unfortunately, such a non-divine system which is based on ignorance currently rules the world and the lives of people. But because it is opposed to divine laws of creation and justice, this system will fall and the signs of its decline have already become clear."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the current situation of the world has changed and touched on increasing Islamic awakening in the Muslim world, further adding: "One of the reasons behind the declining power of the arrogant powers is Islamic awakening among Muslims which has caused these powers to lose their power. And the current situation of the US bears testimony to this fact."
Ayatollah Khamenei urged Muslims to increase their unity and added: "Those who are opposed to monotheism and human prosperity, feel more threatened wherever there is greater Islamic awakening. And this is the reason behind the increasing enmity against the Islamic Republic."
His Eminence stated that the Islamic Republic is the standard-bearer of Islamic awakening as well as the unity and grandeur of Muslims and reiterated: "The arrogant powers have been making efforts against the Islamic Republic for the past 31 years. And by Allah's favor, the Islamic Republic has become stronger despite all the enmities."
His Eminence reiterated that this process will continue and added: "The more the amount of enmities, the more public support the Muslim world will gain. And Islamic governments and nations should increase their self-confidence and not fear the arrogant powers because their power is fake and on the decline."
