The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei led this week's Friday prayers in the presence of thousands of faithful people in Tehran today.
Speaking after the prayers, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the issue of Palestine as the most important issue in the region and said: "The conscious and vigilant Iranian nation will take part in the demonstrations marking the Jerusalem day to defend the rights of the innocent Palestinian nation along with other freedom-seeking Muslims of the world."
Ayatollah Khamenei described materialism as the main reason behind the moral problems of the modern world and reiterated: "Today, the rights of many people are being violated, which is due to the domination of materialistic powers over the world. These powers resort to war, political games, and false propaganda to achieve their goals."
Referring to the firm adherence of the Iranian nation to the principles of the Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "Besides adhering to the principles, the Iranian people are also involved in research and scientific activities and are well aware of the requirements of the time."
Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to the opposition of the Iranian nation to the enemies' political and propaganda attacks and said: "The people preserved their unity and took active participation in opposing the enemies when efforts were being made by foreign spy rings to foment discord among the nation."
His Eminence further added: "The Iranian people reacted properly when the enemies mounted increasing propaganda against Iran in regard to the nuclear issue." He said such awareness, resistance, and deep insight on the part of the people is to be appreciated.
Ayatollah Khamenei also reiterated that the Iranian nation has turned the fourth decade of the Revolution into the decade of justice and progress through its resistance and vigilance, and this will secure the country and the nation against the enemies.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described unity among the elites and government officials as the most important issue in the country and added: "Psychological warfare and Political turmoil must be avoided in the country. However, the enemies are after provoking unrest in the country, and some people unknowingly further their cause."
Referring to the inappropriate and pointless comments by some political elites, Ayatollah Khamenei said the people should consciously avoid such trivial issues in the country.
Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the false comment by one of the Iranian officials in regard to the Israeli people and said: "The Iranian nation has no problems with Jews, Christians, and followers of other religions. However, the claim that there are friendly relations between the Iranian and the Israeli people is false."
He said this is because the Israeli people are a tool in the hands of the Zionists and occupiers of Palestine, and have invaded and occupied the Palestinian lands.
Also in this regard, Ayatollah Khamenei said that this is the Islamic Republic's official stance in regard to Israel.
His Eminence referred to constant reactions against the comment made in regard to the Israeli people as a fruitless act that will cause discord in the country. He said: "The issue is now over and should not be discussed any longer."
Ayatollah Khamenei also said the criticisms leveled against the current administration are a natural consequence of the upcoming presidential elections. However, he said some of the criticisms leveled against the current administration are unfair and will cause discord in the country.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "Proposals can be made to the administration in regard to such issues as inflation. But such proposals must not defame the administration officials."
He also noted that in some Western countries administration officials are defamed in the name of democracy.
Ayatollah Khamenei also expressed his concern over the defamatory and unfair comments made by some of the political elites in the country and stated that all individuals and political parties should stay vigilant in this regard. He said: "The political elites should know that the people are dissatisfied with such comments and will act consciously regardless of such comments."
