Speaking at the meeting, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the plans and bills of the incumbent Administration for Fars province must be pursued seriously and carried out immediately. He said that the officials must actively involve themselves in finding solutions to the problems of the faithful and cultured people of this province so that the people can feel their active presence.
His Eminence also stated that the religious identity of Shiraz is similar to that of Qom, further reiterating: "Shiraz is a center for the descendants of the Prophet's (s.w.a.) household. The spiritual and religious aspect of Shiraz and Fars province must be the focus of attention, planning, and activities, and the media, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) must pay special attention to this issue."
Referring to the Administration's appropriate plans to fight droughts Ayatollah Khamenei said that there have been 7 droughts in the last 40 years. "This shows that droughts are not a rare phenomenon in Iran, and we must do extensive research and planning in this regard. The establishment of a research center in Shiraz for investigating droughts appears to be a necessary and effective step in this regard," he said.
His Eminence described attracting capital from patriotic Iranians, including those of Fars province who are active in neighboring countries, as essential and useful and reiterated that such policies would boost the province's industries.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also stressed the need for attending seriously to the problems of Fars province nomads and said: "This province enjoys elites and exceptional talents in various areas and all ministries should make efforts and plan to utilize these human resources."
His Eminence also referred to the government's plan to build 3 petrochemical complexes in Fars province and added: "There are precious human resources with sufficient knowledge and experience in this province that should be utilized properly."
Ayatollah Khamenei described as necessary building a special center to study the works and characters of Hafiz and Saadi and also a special academic center on art in Shiraz. He reiterated: "If accompanied by faithfulness, art can act as the best means to propagate Islamic, Revolutionary, and human principles."
His Eminence described faithfulness as the basic reason behind God's constant assistance and added: "Faithfulness, reliance on God, a constant sense of responsibility, planning, wisdom, and nonstop efforts are factors that would help us overcome difficulties, and achieve growth and honor. And the epic of the Sacred Defense proved this fact in the best way."
