Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met today with the Interior Minister and the personnel and commander of the Police Force. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence said that among the Armed Forces, the Police Force shoulders a unique, critical, and heavy duty. He further reiterated that besides maintaining their power, the personnel of the Police Force should behave in a kind and sincere manner towards the people.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that working in harmony with other organizations is one of the necessities for the efficiency of the activities of the Police Force. He further referred to cooperation between the Police Force, the Interior Ministry, and the National Security Council as an example of such cooperation.
His Eminence referred to the bitter events which happened during the past year and stated that during those events positive results were achieved whenever the organizations in charge acted vigilantly and in harmony with one another.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that fighting corruption, disorder, riots, smuggling, theft, insecurity, and drug trafficking is the main duty of the Police Force and added that lack of corruption in organizations which are responsible for fighting corruption is the main prerequisite for this fight.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the Police Force shoulders a crucial duty in dealing with criminals and said: "Unlike the Military, the Police Force does not deal with instantly recognizable enemies. Rather, the criminals are among the people and the Police should act like a skillful surgeon and bring out the cancerous tumor without doing any harm to other parts of the body."
Ayatollah Khamenei further urged the personnel of the Police Force to behave properly and in a sincere manner towards the people and added that besides maintaining the power of the Police, the personnel of the Police Force should respect the people.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution urged the personnel of the Police Force to seriously combat individual, social and political corruption.
At the beginning of the meeting, the participants said their evening prayers led by the Leader.
