The Leader of the Islamic Revolution met today with Mr. Ramadan Abdullah the head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and his accompanying delegation. In this meeting, Mr. Ramadan Abdullah presented a comprehensive report on the developments related to the war imposed on Gaza. Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his congratulations to Mr. Ramadan Abdullah on the victory of the people of Gaza and the Islamic Resistance Movement in the 22-day war on Gaza. He described this victory as a miracle.
His Eminence stressed that the victory in the war on Gaza was the result of Allah's favor and assistance. "What happened in Gaza was in fact the result of Allah's power which was manifested through the faith, determination, and jihad of the Islamic Resistance Movement and the people of Gaza."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also added: "This war put the people of Gaza to a truly severe test. The Palestinian officials adopted a unanimous and determined position and put in an impressive performance which helped them emerge victorious out of this test."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that global public opinion was of paramount importance during the war on Gaza and added: "One of the greatest victories of the Islamic Resistance Movement was to attract global public opinion. This victory foiled the enemy's plot to wipe Palestine off the world map and present Palestinians as an aggressive group."
Elsewhere he stressed the importance of public opinion and added: "After the end of the war on Gaza, the enemy has been trying to manipulate public opinion in Gaza through psychological warfare and propaganda. The enemy has been trying to pin the blame on the Islamic Resistance Movement for the hardships and pains which were imposed on the people of Gaza."
Ayatollah Khamenei touched upon the constant decline of the Zionist regime and stated: "The Zionist regime was created by the US and Europe in order to establish their domination over the Middle East. But after the lapse of 60 years, they are even sending warships from America and Europe to the Palestinian coasts in order to save the Israeli regime."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the presence of Islam was a determining factor in the victories achieved by the Palestinian people. He touched upon the war on Gaza and its aftermath and reiterated: "This war and the related developments helped distinguish good from evil. It helped identify the hypocrites."
His Eminence further reiterated that adopting a stable political stance will bring about victory on the military front and added: "One must not give in to the enemies' demands and preconditions on the political front. Rather, by adopting a strong stance, the enemies must be made to retreat, as they were on the military front."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also expressed hopes that Palestine will be completely liberated and said: "Now that the signs of the fulfillment of God's promises are clear, we firmly believe that Palestinian people will achieve the final victory in the near future if they continue to tread this path."
In this meeting, Mr. Abdullah presented a comprehensive report on the war in Gaza and the developments related to the war, and addressing Ayatollah Khamenei he further added: "On behalf of the Palestinian nation and the Islamic resistance forces, I express my gratitude to you and the great Iranian nation for your comprehensive support."
He added: "The Zionist enemy could not achieve its goals in Gaza despite identifying its weaknesses and the experience it had gained from the 33-day War in southern Lebanon."
The head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad also said that the killing of Palestinian women and children was the only achievement made by the Zionist regime in the war on Gaza and said: "The victory of the Palestinian forces in the war on Gaza proved that the Zionist regime is no longer the powerful regime which managed to defeat the Arab armies in the six-day war. And the Zionist regime is now beginning to decline."
He further added: "The Zionist army and its supporters thought that Gaza is the weakest center of Islamic resistance in the region, but the victory of Palestinian forces over the Zionist regime, which was achieved despite the inequalities in military power, was a great strategic transformation in the region. And it bodes well for the ultimate victory of Palestinians."
The head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad also referred to faith, jihad, and Islamic ideology as the main factors behind the victory of Islamic Resistance Movement and added: "The Zionist regime and its supporters seek to achieve politically what they could not achieve on the military front, but the Islamic Resistance Movement will make the enemy retreat on the political front as well by maintaining unity and a strong stance against the enemies."
