The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei attended a ceremony marking the 11th departure anniversary of Hajji Sayyid Ahmad Khomeini, the son of the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran late Imam Khomeini, on Thursday, March 9.
At the ceremony, which was held at the holy mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, Ayatollah Khamenei recited some verses from the Holy Qur'an and paid homage to the son of the Founder of the Islamic Republic and commemorated the 11th anniversary of his departure.
The chief of the Judiciary, the chairman of the Expediency Council, some members of the Experts Assembly, a number of deputies of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, some senior clerics and government officials and high-ranking military officers, a number of ambassadors of the Islamic countries posted in Tehran, the custodian of the Imam Khomeini's holy mausoleum Sayyid Hassan Khomeini and the late Imam's close relatives and family also attended the ceremony.
