The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei received a large number of model teachers from some 700 school districts across the country on Tuesday, May 2.
Speaking at the cordial meeting, which was held to mark the Teachers Day and commemorate the important role and high status of teachers in society, the Leader felicitated the audience on the auspicious occasion and described the meeting as a sign of great devotion to teachers and as a favorable opportunity to get familiar with the teachers' views on various educational issues.
Ayatollah Khamenei also honored the memory of the martyred teacher Ayatollah Morteza Motahhari and honorable martyrs Mohammad-Ali Rajaee and Mohammad-Javad Bahonar. He put emphasis on the fact that teachers enjoy a high status in society, and that education plays a decisive role in sealing the fate of a nation.
