Leader Attends Mourning Ceremony at the Husseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini

The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei attended a mourning ceremony at the Husseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini on Monday, June 26.

The ceremony was held on the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of Her Holiness Fatimah (greetings be upon her), the noble and dignified daughter of Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his infallible household).

The ceremony was attended by a large number of faithful Tehran residents and sincere followers and devoted adherents of the holy prophet's household (greetings be upon them). It was also attended by Chief of the Judiciary Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi-Shahroudi, Speaker of the Majlis Gholamali Haddad-Adel and some other government and military officials.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Hojjatoleslam Fallahzadeh explained some religious precepts, and then the participants in the ceremony said their evening and night prayers, which were led by Ayatollah Khamenei.

Also at the ceremony, Hojjatoleslam Kazerouni elaborated on the main features of the Holy Prophet of Islam by referring to some Qur'anic verses. He added that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his infallible household) aspired for the prosperity and salvation of the entire humanity.

Similar ceremonies will be held at the Husseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini every night until Friday, June 30.
