Leader Attends Mourning Ceremony


The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei attended a mourning ceremony on the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of the Master of Martyrs Imam Hussein-ibn-Ali (greetings be upon him) and his faithful companions on Monday, January 29.
The ceremony, which was held at the Husseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini for the third consecutive night, was also attended by a large number of people as well as by several government officials.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the participants in the ceremony said their evening and night prayers which were led by Ayatollah Khamenei.

Afterwards, the eulogists of the holy Prophet's household (greetings be upon them) elaborated on the movement of Imam Hussein-ibn-Ali (greetings be upon him) and recited some elegies in lamentation over the martyrdom of the Master of Martyrs and his faithful companions.

Similar ceremonies will be held at the Husseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini every night until Thursday, February 1.
