Leader Attends Mourning Ceremony on the Last Night of Mourning for the Master of Martyrs February 01, 2007

The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei attended a mourning ceremony on the last night of mourning for the Master of Martyrs Imam Hussein-ibn-Ali (greetings be upon him) and his faithful companions on Thursday, February 1.

 

The ceremony, which was held at the Husseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini for the sixth consecutive night, was also attended by tens of thousands of devoted Tehran residents as well as a large number of officials of the Islamic Republic.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the participants in the ceremony said their evening and night prayers which were led by Ayatollah Khamenei.

Afterwards, the eulogists of the holy Prophet's household (greetings be upon them) expounded on different aspects of the movement of Imam Hussein-ibn-Ali (greetings be upon him) and recited some elegies in lamentation over the martyrdom of the Master of Martyrs and his faithful companion
