Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution appointed Admiral Ali Shamkhani as his representative in the National Security Council. The following is the full text of this edict issued on September 12, 2013.
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Mr. Ali Shamkhani,
On the basis of Article 76 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I appoint you as my representative in the National Security Council for three years.
Considering the prominent and outstanding role that decisions made by this council play in achieving independence and national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran, it is expected that you - by actively participating in this council and by regularly sharing your ideas and opinions with me - will contribute to the power and independence of this exalted Islamic system.
I deem it necessary to express my gratitude to Dr. Rouhani for the efforts that he made during the years when he served as the Leader's representative in the above-mentioned council.
