The day of Arafah is approaching. The afternoon of this day is one of those heavenly hours if only we can comprehend it. That is why a personality like Hussain Ibn Ali spends that afternoon on praying and supplicating. Make sure you try to pay attention to the meanings of this prayer. Take note of its message. You do not need to sit down and ponder over it – there is no need for pondering here. But when you are reciting it, heed that you are talking to an interlocutor, and understand the meaning of what you are saying. The prayer of Imam Sajjad (a.s.) on the day of Arafah is like an interpretation of the prayer of Imam Hussain (a.s). It is as if his son has written a commentary, an explanation, or an introduction to the words of his father, in the form of and language of supplication. Each one of them has its own splendour.
