Ayatollah Khamenei receives Navy Commanders and Officials

We Can Pass Through Shortcomings and Obstacles with Good Management

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Sunday afternoon with navy commanders and personnel of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army. The meeting was held on the anniversary of Navy Day. Pointing to the significance of the sea and the great achievements of the Navy in benefiting from marine advantages and opportunities, His Eminence stressed the necessity of continuing these achievements and building the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy in a deep and structural manner, reiterating: “Morally healthy and clever manpower that enjoys good thoughts and correct management” as well as “resistance, firm determination, reliance on God and optimism about the future” are the most valuable elements in helping Islamic Iran reach the great and historical position that it deserves.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that the recent achievements of the Navy are tangible and visible, adding: “Before the Islamic Revolution, the significance, greatness and sensitivity of the sea used to be ignored, but today the Navy has made many achievements. Of course, we are still far away from the desired point.”

Ayatollah Khamenei described the sea as the arena for confronting the enemies in a powerful way and for doing efficient activities and cooperating with friends, saying: “Having access to international waters, connecting with the four corners of the world and having the chance to defend the country at sea are among the blessings of the sea to which the people and officials should pay attention.”

His Eminence mentioned that achieving a marine position that befits the historical status of the people of Iran and the Islamic Republic is the great responsibility of the Navy, adding: “We are still in the beginning of the path. You are the men of this path who should open it up, and fulfill this hope and attain this ideal future.”

He referred to the significance of the Sea of Oman and Makran coasts, saying: “This area is a fundamental area for the Navy to play its role. I have offered the necessary recommendations and will offer more recommendations to the administration about reviving this area.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated that the prerequisite for the fulfillment of the Navy’s responsibility is building this force in a deep and structural way particularly through building a competent, morally healthy and clever manpower. He added: “Good management and good manpower work miracles as was the case in the recent years during which the country was faced with financial and budget problems. Of course, these problems still exist, but experience has shown that even if we are empty handed, we can pass through shortcomings and obstacles by having good management.”

Ayatollah Khamenei described the victory of the Islamic Revolution with the leadership of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) as a sign of the miracles that manpower can perform, saying: “With reliance on his divine power and with his unique capabilities and influence, our magnanimous Imam (r.a.) stirred the national ocean and managed to bring a dependent political system – that enjoyed many resources – to its knees.”

His Eminence said that the astonishing victory of the people of Iran in the Sacred Defense Era and defeating an enemy that enjoyed many military and political resources and support is another instance of the miracles that manpower can perform, adding: “Today, the capabilities and achievements of the people of Iran and our Armed Forces have dramatically increased. With resistance, willpower, firm determination, optimism about the future and reliance on God, we can achieve a brighter future, one that befits the status of the people of Iran.”
